Purchased Maytag MHW6630HC April 15, 2026 from Home Depot Canada. Up until today August 23, 2026 it has worked quite well: your clothing will get clean and it's relatively quiet. The matching Dryer works well. Today a load clothing got locked in there and it was alternating between E1 and F9 codes. Of course the codes can't be found in the manual, but these essentially mean it's not draining. Likely the filter is clogged. How do you access the filter on this model to unclog it? You don't because it's hidden behind a non-accessible front panel. This basic task would end up being a multi-hour service call where they dismantle the entire unit. Or you can find Youtube hacks if you have special tools and hours on your hands. Shame on Maytag for designing this and releasing it in this state. Customer service who reads this: the only thing that is going to fix this is sending me out a unit where I can access the front filter which I had in my last washer. I can't believe I'm having issues like this 4 months in. For any readers who want to know how I resolved this, search youtube for: Maytag Front Load Washing Machine Drain Filter Cleaning by oddball. You essentially remove the bottom four front machine screws, and squeeze your hand in there, and unscrew the the filter which will make a mess. Mine was clogged sure enough, which I cleared out, and now it's operating fine. People on Reddit have also solved the access problem by cutting a hole in the lower front panel. All these hacks are complete madness, I feel so duped for trusting the Maytag name.

It has been unbalanced from the beginning. I paid for installation but they were basic. The builder had to tell them how to get the paired dryer to work. Also, I can™€™t determine if the dryer filter is installed correctly.

Bought this washer 6 months ago and we™€™ve already had to replace the ceil on the door. Now it will not stop throwing a code. We cannot wash a load without it stopping and throwing multiple codes. On top of that we paid for the warranty but they don™€™t have any service teams in our area so we™€™re SOL. It™€™s a piece of garbage and the customer service is a pain in the butt to work with.

Washes good, takes longer

It seems the spin cycle does not get as much of the water out of the clothes as my last Maytag. Therefore it takes longer to dry the clothes. The Quick wash says it is only 15 minutes which we do not feel is enough time. The normal wash used to be 44 minutes on the older one or we could set the time but on newer one it is 55 minutes. Seems excessive. Glad we could get a new unit that matches our dryer.

So far this washing machine has performed well. It replaced a smaller 20 year old front load washer. We love the larger capacity for washing bedding. The rubber seals are much better designed limiting hidden water and the risk of developing mold.

Works Great, Less Filling!

So Far, So Good. Installed near the start of December after our previous Maytag gave up the ghost (bad bearing/repair would be more than a new unit) after nearly 20 years of regular use. My only 'complaint' would be the ending signal is not very loud at its loudest volume.

Bought washer and dryer from the whirlpool inside pass site. Good discount, Al bought fulfillment was delayed over 3 weeks. Communication was poor at best, as I had to chase down here items. Between whirlpool and logistic company, they sure need to work on the communication. I called whirlpool numerous times and was told of the delayed of shipment from Raleigh warehouse to logistic in Charlotte. System for sure not updated nor talking to each other. I later found out the items had been sitting on the logistic warehouse in Charlotte for days. I like the products, but not very happy with fulfillment

Stylish and works well

This is the second set of Maytag appliances we have purchased. The first set we donated to a large family in need. After 18 years in service they were still running very well. The new set seems to be doing as good a job as our beloved old ones, but we do miss the interior lights and the buzzer letting you know your cycle is finished.

So far clothes have been coming out clean and soft. I'm wondering if the quick wash cycle is the same as a small size load. We are only 2 people at home and I often have a load of 3 or 4 things to do. Also, when I turn on the machine to start a wash, the ring light comes on around the load selector. Does this mean I have automatically selected extra poewr? Should I be turning off that ring light for an ordinary wash? Also, what is the machine doing when it is "sensing"?

This specific machine has operated good so far. However, our previous one provided nothing but problems to us and a week after the warranty expired it too expired and was uneconomical to repair. It was however a top loading model so after three top loading machines in three years we switched to a front loader.

We bought this washer brand new is 2021 after 2 years it wouldn't even turn on. Of course the warranty was irrelevant by then. I have never bought a washer machine new and got maytag with the intention of paying more for a better brand and it failed. Maybe after 10 years I would understand but not after 2 when this model was $1000. I would not purchase this machine. I have seen this exact model on facebook marketplace saying the washer stopped working. We spent another $200 in parts to fix it and also bought a used washer that has been working perfectly.

We just purchased Maytag washing machine MHW6630HD3 and gas dryer mgd66308c4 again. It is very similar to our previous units at our other house that we have done an average of two loads a day for the past 10 years. Just know it is is a front door washing machine that the door needs to be left open to dry when not in use and do not leave loads sitting for more than a few hours before moving to the dryer. Still think it is one of the best options on the market.

Unbalance Issues

We're coming from a Samsung and have had this unit since 2024. It does a poor job on towels. Often very stiff. The unit continually stops due to 'unbalanced' issues. You need to constantly rearrange the sopping wet clothes and run a drain cycle. The frequency of this has us shopping for a new machine after just a little over a year of ownership. It occurs on large or small loads. Very disappointed.

Prior to this washer I had a Maytag top loader which made me loathe laundry days. My joy is back (or as much as one can enjoy laundry), this washer handles large and small, super dirty and delicate, whites and colors - everything is clean w/minimal detergent. All it asks is that the door be left ajar and a cleaning every 1-2 months. Dependable & efficient - just as promised.

Nice washer but door is NOT reversible.

The only issue I have had thus far, after about a month of use is that the door on the washer is NOT reversible. It makes it much harder to transfer clothing to the dryer much more difficult with my laundry room set up. I did not focus on this when purchasing since the reviews were very positive, but it may be important to note this the you consider this machine. The machine washes well and is very quiet.

This is my second washer. Both have had the same issue. The drain pump gets plugged and gives me a SUD error code. Drain pump is difficult to get to since a it™€™s on the bottom of the washer with no access door. My dryer is stacked on top of the washer so in order to get to the pump I haven to install my dryer every time. Considering they recommend cleaning the drain pump once every 6 months, this is a ridiculous design flop. My first washer lasted almost 2 years, this one lasted 4 months before it started giving me the same code. I will never buy one again.

Worse Possible Experience

The entire experience was ruined by a drain hose that leaked & customer service that was less than zero help. The $30 replacement hose was backordered at least 30 days, yet nobody would approve reimbursement for me buying a local drain hose. Nobody seemed to care at all that my wife & I were so angry that we stated we would never purchase a Maytag ever again.

I bought this a few weeks ago to replace a Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer that I had for 22 years. I am not exactly thrilled with the machine. The end-of-cycle chime is so low that you cannot hear it. I also bought the matching dryer. The doors of the appliances open into each other. I realize the door of the dryer can be reversed.

We foster Golden Retrievers with As Good As Gold - Golden Retriever Rescue of Illinois (22 so far) so you can imagine how much wear and tear we put on our washer over the years. When it finally came time to replace it, there was no doubt in my mind that I would purchase another Maytag. I was so happy with the great results I always got from my first one. To my surprise, Maytag made my new one even better by upgrading the touch-panel to an easier to use dial and button system!! I love the size of the wash drum that easily cleans our king size quilt too. It's perfect for a large, active family, or just two retired community volunteers and dog lovers like us.

So far, it does the job, seems to do a good job. I am not impressed with the longer cycle to clean, almost 3 hours for heavy soilded items? That's an hour longer than my old washer. Hate the holding down the power button for 3 seconds to start, I should be able to turn this off. Also the selection of cycles, I'd rather it was simple or I could save my favorite cycle-the one I always use, still learing this. And the lights that show up for cold-hot wather and low-high spin are small/harder to read. I'm hoping I will learn to run where I like it and most importantly it will run and last. Dependability is why I purchased this washer.
